Starting with Synapse
What the service is, who it supports, and where to begin.
What is Synapse Digital Care?
Synapse Digital Care is an independent digital-health and care-coordination business based in Ibadan, Nigeria. We help people access telemedicine, coordinate patient transport and medical logistics, navigate specialist referrals within Nigeria, and plan care in Nigeria for patients returning from abroad.
Who can use Synapse Digital Care?
Patients and families, healthcare professionals, healthcare providers, corporate organisations, and international referral partners can contact Synapse. Each request is assessed individually so that the next step reflects the person’s needs, location, and circumstances.
What is the best way to begin?
Use the Guided Care Journey if you are unsure where to start. You can also book an appointment directly, send a general enquiry, or begin a WhatsApp conversation.
Is Synapse an emergency service?
No. Synapse Digital Care is not an emergency service and does not provide emergency response or emergency ambulance dispatch. If someone may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service or go to the nearest emergency facility immediately.
Consultations, referrals, and coordination
How clinical care and practical coordination work together.
Does Synapse make diagnoses or prescribe treatment?
Synapse coordinates access and practical arrangements. Diagnosis, prescriptions, and treatment decisions are made by appropriately qualified healthcare professionals who are responsible for the clinical care they provide.
Can Synapse help me find a specialist in Nigeria?
Yes. Synapse can help clarify the type of specialist pathway required and coordinate an eligible referral, subject to clinical suitability, provider availability, and provider acceptance.
Can Synapse arrange a second opinion?
Synapse can coordinate access to an independent professional for an eligible second-opinion request. The appropriate record-sharing process is explained after the initial enquiry.
Can a healthcare professional refer a patient?
Yes. Healthcare professionals and providers can begin through the Guided Care Journey or the general enquiry form. Please do not attach medical records to a public email or WhatsApp message; Synapse will explain the appropriate next step.
Does a referral enquiry guarantee acceptance or treatment?
No. A referral enquiry does not guarantee consultation, admission, travel clearance, treatment, or a particular outcome. Acceptance depends on factors including clinical suitability, documentation, Nigerian provider capacity, availability, and the requirements of the proposed care pathway.
Returning to Nigeria for care
Inbound referral pathways, pre-arrival planning, and practical arrangements.
Can Synapse help me return to Nigeria for medical care?
Yes. Synapse can assess eligible enquiries from patients living in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and other countries who want care in Nigeria. The Nigerian provider and pathway depend on the required care, clinical suitability, availability, documentation, cost, and practical travel readiness.
Can Synapse guarantee an appointment or treatment in Nigeria?
No. Synapse can coordinate information and practical next steps, but cannot guarantee Nigerian provider acceptance, an appointment date, admission, a particular treatment, travel clearance, or a clinical outcome.
What does patient transport coordination include?
Each request is assessed individually. Support may include planning movement to a consultation, investigation, treatment, or follow-up appointment according to location, timing, mobility needs, and destination. It is not an emergency ambulance service.
Can overseas providers partner with Synapse?
Yes. Providers and referral organisations outside Nigeria can work with Synapse to refer eligible patients into Nigerian care and coordinate communication, pre-arrival planning, local support, and continuity after the patient returns to their country of residence.
Pricing, privacy, and information
What to expect before proceeding and how to contact us safely.
How much does the service cost?
Pricing is provided after Synapse understands the request and proposed service. The relevant scope and price are communicated before any paid arrangement proceeds.
What information should I send in the first enquiry?
Send only general details such as your name, contact information, country, the type of support required, and a short non-clinical description. Do not send medical records, passport details, payment information, or a detailed medical history through the public form, email, or WhatsApp.
How are medical records shared?
When records are appropriate, Synapse explains the next process after the initial enquiry. Records should only be shared through the method provided for that specific care journey.
How quickly will Synapse respond?
Response time depends on the nature and timing of the request. Synapse will acknowledge and review enquiries as promptly as practical, but urgent or emergency needs must be directed to an appropriate emergency service.
